Linking To Non WWW Files

You can link to files other than just HTML files. Generally, your browser should be able to directly display any ASCII text file, Whether on a Web or a Gopher server and should also be able to display ZGIF or JPEG graphics. Other kinds of files might requires viewers or players, such as sound animation, or videos files. One of the newest things, however, is support for steaming audio and animation with Real Audio or Shockwave, Which allows audio and animation clips to be streamed (Played while being download) rather than download first and then played.
